Lou Nicholettos ( MSc, MSc, BSc (Hons) MCSP, AACP, HCPC )
MSK Specialist Physiotherapist And Founder
Lou has TWO Masters degrees- from the University of Birmingham and Kings College London. She is a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist with over 15 years Physiotherapy experience. During her career, she has been taught by and worked alongside some of the most highly regarded international experts in physiotherapy and pain science.
Lou has become Cornwall’s go-to physio for complex aches and pains, including sports injuries and spinal pain.
Her areas of special interest include running injuries, tendon injuries, back pain and nerve pain.
As a running specialist physio, Lou has quickly gained a reputation as one of the very best clinicians in the UK and treats athletes from across the South-West and beyond from her base in St Austell, Cornwall. Lou has provided physiotherapy for the Great Britain hockey team, numerous Great Britain runners and triathletes and international competitors from the sports of athletics, rugby, netball, squash and swimming.
Having worked with and been taught by some of the best physio’s in the world, Lou founded Cornwall Physio to create a quality private clinic with world class facilities, right here in the South West.

Rob Bale ( BSc (Hons), MCSP, HCPC, OLY )
Chartered Physiotherapist
Rob joined the team at Cornwall Physio in October 2020, bringing with him a vast experience in musculoskeletal physio and sports injuries. Lou hand-picked Rob due to his experience working within specialist private physiotherapy and elite level sports injury rehab. This experience makes him the perfect fit for the clinic here.
Rob is an all-round sports injury expert, with a specialist interest in the shoulder and related injuries. He is a member of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, which helps put him at the forefront of new knowledge and research to come out in this area. Before training as a physiotherapist, Rob was a full-time athlete, competing as a swimmer at International level.
Rob had an incredible swimming career, representing Great Britain at all of the major championships, including the Olympic Games in London in 2012! As a physiotherapist, Rob’s prior experience as a professional athlete is invaluable to his patients. He has worked with some of the world’s top physios and coaches – and uses this unique experience to get the best results for his physiotherapy patients here at Cornwall Physio.
Kerrie Astley BSc (Hons) MCSP HCPC
Chartered Physiotherapist
Kerrie is a highly skilled Chartered Physiotherapist and a valued member of our team, bringing a unique blend of physiotherapy and fitness expertise. With a background in personal training, she has spent years honing her skills in exercise rehabilitation and performance enhancement, making her exceptionally adept at guiding clients through tailored rehabilitation and fitness programs. Her experience extends to working with the Royal Navy at HMS Drake’s Rehabilitation Unit, where she supported active-duty personnel in their recovery and return to peak fitness.
In addition to her Physiotherapy qualifications, Kerrie is one of our clinic’s Regenerative Therapy specialists, having completed advanced training with Venn Healthcare in the latest regenerative techniques for treating complex tendon, bone, and joint conditions. Her commitment to evidence-based care and her extensive knowledge of regenerative therapies allow her to support clients facing chronic pain and injuries with innovative, science-backed treatments designed to accelerate recovery and restore function.
Kerrie is passionate about living an active lifestyle herself, blending strength, functional, and high-intensity training into her routine. She believes in empowering clients to stay strong, active, and resilient at every stage of life, and she works closely with each person to help them achieve their unique health and performance goals.
Connor Hoskin (BSc (Hons) BASRaT)
Sports Rehabilitator
Connor is our Sports Rehabilitator and our expert when it comes to rehabbing sports injuries and surgeries. Connor has previously worked with many professional clubs and athletes before coming to Cornwall Physio such as Plymouth Argyle, The Plymouth City Patriots Basketball Team and Team GB Paralympians. Connor is great at treating backs, necks and shoulders and excels at lower limb rehab. He’s your man if you need help fixing an Achilles, a sprained ankle, plantar fasciitis or sore knees! Connor is also excellent at soft tissue work and taping. Away from the clinic, Connor is a keen footballer and loves working with injury prevention with our footballers and runners.
Dawn Hadfield-Young
Reception / Admin
Dawn has been with Cornwall Physio since it expanded in 2019. She has an extensive background in business admin and has worked in both public and private sectors. “I rode for nearly 30 years, competing and writing in dressage competitions before taking up running”. Dawn also practices yoga regularly, swims and stand up paddle boards! “I try and keep open water swimming all year round, topped up with some weekly pool swims.” Dawn is a keen trail runner and is well know in the swim-run and trail running communities for volunteer marshalling and providing mobile crew at MudCrew’s RAT and ARC races. “I’ve run a lot of the Cornish trail races and dipped my toe into ultra running, but love supporting runners just as much, especially on the tough Coastpath Ultras we’re lucky enough to have here in Cornwall”.
